I, Richard Anderson, am a cultural anthropologist. I have had a special interest in Mexican art and culture (resume) for many years, and I am indebted to Mexican artists and craft-makers for the many things I have learned from them.
In an attempt to repay that debt, in 2007 I began making websites for Mexican artists, craft-producers, and others, hoping to help them promote their work in the global marketplace via the World Wide Web.
Because I now only teach one semester per year, I am able to live most of the time in Tlaquepaque, Mexico, where I continue to make websites. Most of the sites result from a close collaboration between me and my wife, Kim Anderson, a painter, whose good eye and color sense largely determine the appearance of the sites we make. We are proud of our sites' attractiveness, a direct result of our combined efforts.
I charge only enough money to pay for some of my expenses: The rest of my compensation comes from the opportunity I have to make friends, to learn more about Mexican culture and its many flourishing arts and crafts, and to support people whose work I respect.
